A Fiery Gate opened by Dee-T A Fiery Gate opened by Dee-T
Kaikoura
New Zealand

There are some dawns that are good, some great, some are just @#$@#$@$ and you stand there wondering if you are really on earth witnessing it.
This was one such dawn which I shared with 2 people beside me doing yoga! Not another photographer around which surprised me. This strange light would fade but lasted well into the morning to the east.

I've also recently finished our NZ trip video (*and sydney) - here's the high res version on youtube!

Damn. Just... damn.

There are times here in Oklahoma, around sunset, when it's overcast but the clouds don't quite stretch to the horizon and the world becomes stained with brilliant, diffuse light. Purple and pink are the colors that I remember but it's possible there might be others. I just recently got a camcorder and maybe I'll be able to capture it one of these days. I'm normally at work during that time, though, and I work where cameras are not allowed.

Oh, fascinating work!
But why did you cut it like this? :(
Too bad we cannot see more of the left side, the light situation there ( with the town and the blue sky) looks really interesting! (Same goes for the right side, I think)
I mean, the whole image is great, but I'd love to see more of the scene!

thanks for asking but this is already a wide stitched panorama - on the right, parked cars, on the left, street poles - I don't think that really added anything to the scene :)

Ha, I see :)
Alright!
Yes, unfortunately these things (cars/poles etc.) disturb a lot of scenes.

Greetings
Jan :)
