More specifically, this location is called Hvestudalur, one of our favourite locations in Iceland (which is saying something considering how much I love the country!). We stayed the night previously in the Bildudalur youth hostel which is located on the south of the West Fjords. We had scouted the area the previous night in poor light and arose at 5am for the dawn. After some incredible shooting into the sunrise, the clouds blew in and rained. We thought it was the end of our shoot but as we both turned around from different locations in the area, we saw this rainbow seemingly beaming up into the dark clouds above.
