Dove Lake
Tasmania

Marianne and I spent the last 10 days travelling around Tasmania for our last Hurrah before our baby is due in August!

Cradle Mountain is undoubtedly the one iconic location I would not want to miss if I had to pick 1 spot of many in Tasmania to visit. We were there for 3 days and on the last dawn, perfect stillness, clear clouds which allowed shooting of everything from star trails, right through to the tips of light hitting the peaks of the mountains. When shooting icons, it's always hard to come up with original compositions that haven't been done before. Some might say the rule of thirds should have been used but when there is pure symmetry, I let that guideline go out the window. Also, icons have become icons because of their beauty and there was no way that I was going to avoid this shot simply because it was an icon.

So here it is! One of my versions of the iconic Dove Lake boatshed. Three years ago, it was a completely different scene which you can see here :

Beautiful image! You have captured the scene perfectly, never mind the 'rule of thirds', rules are meant to be broken. Absolutely stunning reflections and tone! :highfive: :)
