Somewhere just outside of Colfax, a brilliant sunrise unfolded over the whole land while I missed out on 90% of it. The story behind the miss is that for 2 weeks on the road, Marianne and I had not seen a cloud in the sky. On the day we were leaving the Palouse, we had made not plans save for driving back to Mount Rainier at an early hour. As we were packing up from breakfast, the light just exploded and so did Marianne - I almost thought there was something serious happening but shortly afterward, I was in the rental car driving out to any spot with fields! I think this road is on the way to Kamiak Butte but can't be sure lol.
