I took this shot a few weeks ago while scouting potential locations for a wedding shoot in the area. The canola was in full force in the region and I was excited about shooting the bridal party in this field, however, 2 weeks later, most of the gold had dropped off, replaced by seed pods instead. Nonetheless, I know now at what time of year to head up that way for similar shots in the years to come!

Usually I ignore canola type shots as its not a plant I have ever been drawn towards. However this photograph is the exception, when I saw the thumbnail it leapt out at me and even more so opened up. You have caught the view perfectly, the lighting on the canola is stunning, and the way it leads you up to the beautifully lit tree on the horizon line is pleasing. The backdrop skyline makes me envious I was not there to capture it. All in all a superb piece of work indeed. Simon

thanks for your input simon - it was the first time I had been out that direction and the sunlight on the canola was intense!
