Seljalandfoss
Iceland

One of the most remarkable falls in iceland - this lies a short drive off the country's circumnavigating ring road #1. 60m of milky falls into a tiny pond and the ability to walk behind these falls is what makes it unique.
The image was taken with a rainhood in between moments of torrential spray - 3 exposures blended for the final result. The red speck is my wife Marianne just for scale

Spectacular! But after you said the red spot was your wife, it really took my breath away at the size of the fall!  Very cool!

Interesting perspective. Not seeing the originating point of the waterfall is a bit weird (for me).

So that's what it looks like when it isn't overcast. The view we got on our visit was far less impressive. Nice shot!

I visited Seljalands on about 5 different occasions - this was the only occasion with blue sky!

Hmm - I've only been there twice. Looks like I am going to have to try a few more times to see I have have that kind of luck. We found the further we got from Reykjavik; the better the weather both times we were in Iceland.

Nice one here well done. The water of the fall does look a bit fake....might be from trying to recover overexposed whites?

That has been a frequent comment but I assure you, any kind of long exposure on seljalandfoss looks very much surreal :) (partly because the wind sometimes changes the direction of the falls mid fall)

Incredible landscape, and perspective on these mighty falls. The sense of scale you have achieved with your wife in the shot is great as well.

This is a tonemapped HDR result with the three exposures, yes? I normally don't like landscapes with this technique, but I genuinely think it really suits this shot. The light throughout the landscape is spectacular, very well done.

thanks very much phil
usually with my HDRs , I create a photomatix shot but superimpose the original 0 -2 +2EV shots over the tonemapped shot to make it not so unreal
